The 1964 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 stands as one of the most elegant grand tourers of its era, representing a perfect blend of Ferrari’s racing heritage and luxurious touring capabilities. As specialists in rare and classic Ferraris, Beverly Hills Car Club has handled numerous transactions involving these prestigious vehicles, making us uniquely qualified to guide sellers through the complex process of selling a 330 GT 2+2.
For owners considering selling their 1964 330, understanding the vehicle’s market and unique characteristics is crucial. This model holds a special place in Ferrari’s legacy. The 330 GT 2+2 was Ferrari’s best-selling model of its time, yet each example tells its own story through its preservation, restoration history, and provenance.
Introduced as a replacement to the Ferrari 250 GTE, the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was the second model to offer a four-seat cockpit arrangement. Available alongside the sporty Ferrari 275 GTB and very exclusive Ferrari 500 Superfast, the 1964 Ferrari 330 GT 2+2, and other model-years, was designed to be a more comfortable and an easier vehicle to drive. Based on the Ferrari 250 GTE chassis, the Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was 2 inches longer and was fitted with adjustable Koni shock absorbers. The car was also equipped with a Dunlop dual-circuit braking system with discs all around. The Tipo 209 engine was developed from the Colombo V12 line of the previous models and featured a 4-Liter capacity. Design-wise, the sharp nose offered a wide grille and quad headlights, giving the car a very distinctive look. Luxurious options were made available such as air conditioning and power steering, which can add value to todays classics.
Ferrari was famous for making short production runs and very exclusive limited edition models for many of their lines. Before the introduction of the Series II Ferrari 330 GT models, Ferrari produced 125 interim cars featuring the quad-headlight configuration of the Series I, but with the five-speed gearbox and suspended foot pedals of the Series II vehicles. Interestingly, only 43 cars were produced with right-hand steering.
