The SS Jaguar 100 was produced from 1936 to 1940 and was a two-seater roadster sports car also called the SS Jaguar 2.5 Liter 100 Model. A straight-six 2.7-liter engine with overhead valve powered the model. Supposedly, the model’s top speed was 100 mph, hence the 100 designation in the name, but the 100 mph were not reached by all the examples. Linked to the engine was a four-speed gearbox with synchromesh on the top three ratios. The car was quite light – only weighing 2600 pounds. Suspension used half-elliptical springs all around with rigid axles and the car was equipped with Girling brakes. The bodywork was refined and aesthetically pleasing with subtle flowing lines and great attention to details.
